We’re proud to announce our launch at 170 Fresh & Easy stores across CA, NV, and AZ! Our placement on Fresh & Easy shelves marks yet another milestone in OCHO Candy’s ever-expanding distribution across Southern Pacific territories. The OCHO factory is humming along, churning out candy bars and Minis to keep up with the ever-growing demand. Our biggest growth is taking place in the North Atlantic states, as OCHO hits the shelves in several independent markets in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Thank you to our many loyal customers for sending in your testimonials and comments through our website. We can’t tell you how much your positive feedback means to our small but mighty team of candy makers and support staff.

Perhaps the most exciting news to announce this month is our launch with Costco. OCHO will be available at five Northern California locations – San Francisco, Mountain View, Roseville, Santa Cruz and Almaden-San Jose. We’ll be sampling at these locations from mid-May to mid-June so keep an eye out.

OCHO Welcomes New Retail Partners – Roche Bros. and Central Market!

Massachusetts fans rejoice! OCHO is now available at all 18Roche Brothers locations (including the 3 Sudbury Farms stores). Our Coconut and Peanut Butter bars are currently featured in each store, and customers will find an expanded offering in late May, with our Caramel & Peanut, Mocha and Dark Coffee bars added to the mix. We’ll be running demos in all 18 locations the weekend of May 23rd, so come out and sample OCHO.

The great state of Texas is also catching OCHO fever, as we launched in the nine Central Market stores earlier this month. CM shoppers will find all five bar flavors and all four Mini flavors on the shelf. For a complete list of retailers carrying OCHO, visit our Store Locator.

OCHO Events

One of our favorite things to do is spread the word about our amazing candy bars at community events. OCHO will be at the Living Without Magazine’s Gluten Free Food Allergy Fest on May 3rd and 4th at San Diego’s Town and Country Resort and Convention Center. OCHO will join over 80 exhibitors for this exciting event, sampling and selling our line of bars and Minis. If you’ll be in the San Diego area that weekend, come out and see us!

Join OCHO at the SF Diva 5K and Half Marathon Health and Boutique May 30th and 31st in Burlingame, CA where we’ll be sampling and selling our bars both days. We had a great time at this event last year and are looking forward to this fantastic event again.

We’ll also be participating in both the See Jane Run Half Marathon and 5k on June 21st and 22nd and the 5th Annual Bay Area T9K on September 14th in Northern California.

Recipe of the Month: OCHO Peanut Butter Cheesecake

Here is another great-tasting recipe from the OCHO kitchen. Our team is enjoying one today!

Crust

1 C chocolate wafer cookie crumbs (about 5 1/2 ounces)

1/2 C roasted, unsalted peanuts, coarsely chopped (about 2 1/2 ounces)

1/4 C (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted

2 T firmly packed golden brown sugar

Pinch of salt

Filling

4 8-oz. packages cream cheese

1 1/2 C firmly packed golden brown sugar

1/2 C creamy peanut butter (do not use old-fashioned or freshly ground)

1 t vanilla extract

4 large eggs

1/4 C whipping cream

2 1/2 C OCHO Peanut Butter bars (about 10 ounces), cut into 3/4-inch pieces, or about 20 OCHO PB Minis

Topping

2 C sour cream

1/4 C sugar

1 t vanilla extract

For Crust: Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 350 degrees. Butter 9-inch springform pan with 2 3/4-inch-high sides. Mix chocolate cookie crumbs, chopped peanuts, melted butter, brown sugar and pinch of salt in bowl until well combined. Press mixture evenly onto bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of pan. Bake until crust is set, about 8 minutes. Cool in pan on rack. Reduce temperature to 325 degrees.

For Filling: Using electric mixer, beat room temperature cream cheese and brown sugar in large bowl until smooth. Add peanut butter and vanilla extract and beat just until blended. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating just until blended after each addition. Add whipping cream and beat until smooth. Stir in OCHO PB pieces or Minis.

Pour filling into crust. Bake until sides of cake are set but center still moves slightly, about 55 minutes. Cool cake in pan on rack 10 minutes.

For Topping: Blend sour cream, sugar and vanilla extract in medium bowl. Carefully spoon topping over cheesecake. Return cheesecake to oven and bake 5 minutes.

Cool cheesecake in pan on rack. Run small sharp knife around the edge of cheesecake to loosen. Cover and refrigerate overnight. (Can be prepared 3 days ahead. Keep refrigerated.) Release pan sides. Let stand 20 minutes at room temperature before serving. Enjoy!
